Diagnostic Services

Radiology

RadiologyX-rays are one of the most useful tools we employ to diagnose medical problems in your pet. X-rays (radiographs) allow us to evaluate your pet's musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Using x-rays, we can determine the location and severity of bone fractures, identify some symptoms of heart disease and locate foreign bodies (bones, toys and other items) inside your pet's stomach and intestine.

A board certified veterinary radiologist evaluates your pet's x-rays. If necessary, any of your pet's diagnostic procedure results can be sent to veterinary specialists for faster consultations and second opinions.

Ultrasound

RadiologyUltrasound is an advanced imaging technique that uses soundwaves to provide a real-time moving image of your pet's internal organs. This procedure is particularly useful for diagnosing abdominal and cardiac problems and can also be used to detect abdominal fluid, tumors and foreign bodies and other illnesses.

An ultrasound machine is on site to guide many diagnostic procedures, including non-cardiac soft tissue surgeries. Abdominal ultrasound with biopsy capabilities is also available, as are bladder ultrasounds for stone visualization and obtaining accurate urine samples. The ultrasound is also helpful in diagnosing pregnancy. A board certified radiologist is available for ultrasound consultations.

Laboratory

LaboratoryWhen your pet is sick, he or she cannot tell us what is wrong. Sometimes we need to rely on additional diagnostic tests in order to make an accurate diagnosis. Thanks to our in-house diagnostic laboratory, your pet's test results are ready within a matter of minutes.

Our laboratory is capable of processing dozens of tests, including complete blood counts (CBCs), blood chemistry panels, parasite testing (to detect the presence of heartworms, roundworms and other internal parasites), bacterial and fungal cultures, fecal analysis, and more. Your pet's results are analyzed and interpreted by our team of specially trained veterinary technicians. The result is fast, accurate treatment for your pet.
