We know that you love your pup, and want to give them the best food and treats possible. Here are some safe and healthy dog treats that can easily be made at home. As a reminder, please feed these tasty treats in moderation to prevent an upset stomach or excess weight gain.


Homemade Frosty Paws

1-pint vanilla yogurt 
2 Tbsp peanut butter 
2 Tbsp honey 
1 banana


Directions:
-Mix in the food processor until smooth. 
-Pour into Dixie cups or ice cube trays and freeze, and then put in ziplock bags to store. This mixture can also be used to fill a Kong before freezing.

Ginger Bones
4 cups all-purpose flour 
2 cups whole wheat flour 
1 cup molasses 
1 cup of water 
1/2 cup vegetable oil 
4 tablespoons ground ginger 
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 
1 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions: 
-Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Place all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly to combine. 
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Using a cookie cutter, cut into desired shapes. Combine dough scraps and continue to roll out and cut into shapes until all dough has been used.  
- Place cookies on ungreased foil-lined baking sheets and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Allow to cool.

Sweet Potato Chews
2 sweet potatoes

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
-Wash sweet potatoes
-Slice sweet potatoes lengthwise about ¼ inch thick. Place on a baking sheet.
-Bake for 1.5 hours, then pull out of the oven and flip pieces over. Bake for an additional 1.5 hours.

-They are finished when dried, barely bendable, and still orange. Allow to cool.
-Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or freeze for up to 4 months

4 Ingredient Dog Biscuits
1 small banana
½ cup peanut butter (xylitol free)
1/3 cup chicken or beef stock
1 cup wheat flour

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-Mash the banana in a large mixing bowl.
-Add peanut butter, broth, and 1/3 cup flour at a time until well mixed.
-Roll out dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Using a cookie cutter, cut into desired shapes. Combine dough scraps and continue to roll out and cut into shapes until all dough has been used. 
-Bake the biscuits for about 16-18 minutes, and allow to cool.
