Frequently Asked Questions
What are the requirements for dogs coming to daycare?
All daycare participants must be at least 16 weeks old and fully vaccinated including rabies vaccine, DHPPLC, 6-month Bordetella vaccine, canine influenza vaccine and have had a negative fecal or broad-spectrum intestinal parasite deworming in the past six months. All daycare participants 6 months or older must be spayed or neutered.
What does my dog do during daycare?
Your dog will be in play groups with other dogs the entire visit. During lunch and late afternoon, all dogs present will get a leash walk outside to relieve themselves. If your dog needs to be fed lunch, they will be put into a private suite to eat and will have to wait 1.5 hours before returning to the play group. We recommended feeding your dog breakfast about 1.5 hours before they are dropped off for daycare to prevent any risk of bloat or upset tummy.
What are the requirements for dogs or cats coming for boarding?
Dogs must be current on rabies vaccine, DHPPLC, 6-month Bordetella vaccine, canine influenza vaccine and have had a negative fecal or broad-spectrum intestinal parasite deworming in the past six months.
Cats must be current on rabies vaccine, FVRCP, 6-month Bordetella vaccine, and have had a negative fecal or broad-spectrum intestinal parasite deworming in the past six months.
What are the requirements for dogs and cats coming for grooming?
Dogs must be current on rabies vaccine, DHPPLC, 6-month Bordetella vaccine, and canine influenza vaccine.
Cats must be current on rabies vaccine, FVRCP, and 6-month Bordetella vaccine. Cats that must be sedated for grooming will also need current blood work on file (within the past six months).
How much time does my dog spend in daycare when he/she is boarding overnight?
Daycare is not included in the price of boarding overnight.
Will my dog have daycare while in for grooming?
Daycare is not included with grooming. If you would like your pet to have playtime while in for grooming, we are happy to have them join daycare in the afternoon once their groom is complete. Please be aware that your dog may get dirty while in the playgroups with other dogs.
What should I bring for my pet to have during boarding?
All pets will be provided with ample bedding and toys for entertainment. If you would like to bring a personal item, such as a blanket or stuffed toy, you are more than welcome to do so; however, we cannot be responsible for the loss or damage to any personal items. If your pet requires any medication while boarding, please be sure to bring it in the original container with the dosage and directions visible. We feed all pets Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Skin and Stomach food. However, you are welcome to bring your pet’s food if he or she requires a special diet. We feed your pet according to your instructions (time of day, number of times per day). We ask that you bring only enough food to last the length of your pet’s stay in labelled plastic bags.
Can my dog be groomed while in daycare?
Typically, our groomer books out between 8-12 weeks for grooming appointments. We are happy to provide a bath for your pet while they are here for daycare, just be aware that they will likely be wet when you pick them up. Speak with a staff member if you would like other services such as nail trimming or grinding, ear cleaning or plucking, or anal gland expression to be completed while your pet is here for the day or while boarding.
